About Pastor James B. Watts

 

Pastor Watts accepted Jesus Christ as his savior in 1982 at the age of 19 years old, and was ordained in the ministry in 1987.  He was named Youth Minister of the Straight Life Churches of God.  In addition, he was appointed Sunday School Teacher of the Young Adult classes. He also started and coached the youth Basketball Program for the Straight Life Church.  Pastor Watts held those positions until 1992, at which time he resigned to follow the call of God to a higher position.  From 1993 until 2002, Pastor Watts served as Associate Pastor here at the Tabernacle.  On September 22, 2002, he was appointed Pastor and General Overseer over this local assembly.

 

 

Pastor Watts is currently serving as Senior Pastor at Straight Life Tabernacle.   He is also the founder and President of the SLT Christian Academy, purchased in November 2003; the academy served as an early learning center for kids.  In June 2004 the facility that housed the Academy was sold back to the original owners.  Plans calls for a new SLT Academy to open in the near future.

His Professional experience includes over 25 years as an Employee & Administrator for the Fulton County School System and President of Global Management & Investment Group L.L.C.  He also serves as a board member for the Fulton Schools Chartable Fund and Fulton Schools Pension Board.

His educational background includes the requirements for a Bachelor Degree.  He has earned a Master's Certificate in Business Management from Georgia Tech University Mid Management Program, and a Certificate in Accounting and Administration from the University of Wisconsin American Management Institute.  He will also pursue his Master's Degree in Biblical Studies from Freedom Bible College and Seminary.

Pastor Watts is married to First Lady Brenda Watts and they have three children, Brandon, Shanika, Taleisha, and three grandchildren, Bryson Bernard Brown- Steele, Landon Watts and Payton Thomas.

God has given Pastor Watts the gift to teach and preach his word to the glory of God.
